November 2011 Newsletter
Hi All,
And it’s a special day today as it’s actually our 4th birthday! I know how much you love our annual birthday party but we’re saving it up for when we move so that we can have an amazing opening party instead! Lots of news in the run up to Christmas but not much news on the premises move – we’ve seen hundreds of potential premises, just not the ‘right’ premises so the hunt continues…
Christmas at Unpackaged
This year, Christmas at Unpackaged is focused around Stir Up Sunday on 20th November and our ’12 Days of Christmas’ leading up to the annual late night shopping evening on Monday 5th December. As usual, we’re really happy to take advance orders, or reserve popular items for you such as advent calendars & christmas puddings, just email us or call the shop on 020 7713 8368.
Stir Up Sunday, 20th November
Traditionally the last Sunday before Advent, Stir Up Sunday is the day to start making your Christmas cakes & puddings and this year we hope to inspire you to make your own! In the week running up to Stir Up Sunday we’ll be posting all the Christmas recipes you’ll need on our Facebook & website. That way you can check what you already have in the pantry and stock up on the other ingredients from us – we’ll have everything in stock.

Late Night Christmas Shopping, Monday 5th December, 6.30pm – 8.30pm
As is tradition on Amwell Street, all the shops will be open late from 6.30pm – 8.30pm full of mince pies, mulled cider & a chance to bag great gifts for your loved ones.
November Special Offer
Finally! Not only do we have bulk honey for you to refill, but it’s local from the Surrey Quays in South East London AND comes in a drum that we can return to our new favourite beekeeper Leanne – possibly the happiest ‘unpackaged’ honey you could get! So, this month, redeem your full loyalty card, or spend over £20 with a Wedge card, for a free 100g of honey. Remember, you must be refilling to take advantage of the offer, and only one offer can be redeemed per purchase.
Bag Survey Results
Thank you so much to everyone who took part in our plastic bag charging survey – the general consensus was that yes, we should charge for reusable plastic bags in the shop. Alas with things like this there are always unintended consequences so we need to have a think about how to not increase cheaper (single use) paper bag consumption – we’ll report back as soon as we have a new system.
That’s all for now, we look forward to celebrating the season with you!
Best wishes
Catherine & The Team
